What Is included In The Reservation?

The entire climate-controlled facility from 10AM-10PM: 2 Preparation quarters (the Mansion and the Cottage), the two-story Lodge, tables, chairs, layout consultation meeting, complete furniture set up before, during, and after event, one building manager, and parking attendants. While the client is responsible for cleaning up and removing all decorations following the event, Historic Ashland takes care of cleaning the preparation suites, bathrooms and floors of the facility. The client also has access to all of the grounds for a ceremony or pictures.

What Is A Day Of Coordinator?

A day of coordinator ensures that your entire wedding day runs smoothly from decorating the venue, coordinating the rehearsal and ceremony, to be the last one to leave the night of the reception. Our on-site coordinator, Amanda, will assist in set-up and clean-up as well as greeting your guests, timeline, organizing vendors, etc. Historic Ashland requires all couples to hire our on-site day-of coordinator. This is a separate fee of $1,250.

I Thought Leah Was Going To Be The Day-Of Coordinator? What Will She Do On The Wedding Day?

Leah is responsible for the wedding venue. Ensuring that the grounds are manicured, clean, and ready for your wedding day is her sole priority for your wedding. You will work with Leah to reserve your date and execute a contract. She is not a day-of coordinator but will work alongside Ashland’s exclusive coordinator Amanda to help in any way that she can.

What Happens If It Rains?

If it rains, the ceremony may be held inside the Lodge, on the lower level. Ashland’s General Manager along with the client will make the decision to move indoors by Noon on the day of the Wedding. Historic Ashland does not allow tents.

When Is My Rehearsal?

Rehearsals are conducted by request only. If you would like one, it is included in your venue fee. Your one-hour rehearsal time will be scheduled as close to your wedding day as possible. The day and time will be based upon the availability of Historic Ashland. Because of this, please be aware that your rehearsal might not be the day before your wedding.

Are tables and chairs included?

Yes, all tables and chairs are included in your rental fee. This includes a variety of table sizes to choose from along with black chivari chairs.

Can we bring our own catering and alcohol?

Clients must select from Historic Ashland’s preferred catering list for all food needs. Clients will purchase and bring the alcohol for the event and it will be served by an insured, licensed bartender.

How Long Do I Have The Venue For?

When you reserve Historic Ashland, you get the entire venue to yourself for your big day starting at 10AM. We allow 5 1/2 hours of “party time” in which guests arrive for the ceremony and/or cocktail hour, and reception. Time for set up, getting ready, and clean-up is not taken from the 5 1/2 hour “party time.” Alcohol may be served for a maximum of 5 hours. At the end of the event, all guests must leave, and you have one hour to clean up and load anything you brought in. The client is charged $500 per hour that our staff must be here after the first hour of clean up, so please do not bring more than you can clean up within the hour.

What Is The Capacity In The Lodge?

Can We Decorate The Venue?

Yes, you may decorate as long as you do not use nails, staples, or tacks to do so. The client may not use a ladder to decorate, unless decorations are being carried out by an insured vendor. Please consult Historic Ashland for recommendations.

Are Candles Allowed In The Venue?

Yes, provided they are kept in enclosed glass containers, such as votives, mason jars or lanterns and any such containers or candle holders must be approved by Historic Ashland prior to use. The candle holder must be able to contain melted wax from the candle and the body of the candle must be mostly enclosed by the holder and otherwise secured so as not to be likely to tip over out of the holder.

When Do We Need To Have Everything Off The Property?

Is the Venue ADA compliant?

Yes! We are inspected every year to ensure our Venue remains accommodating for everyone.

Do You Have An On-Site Caterer?

No, we do not prepare any food ourselves. We provide a list of 9 preferred caterers that the client must select from.

May I Act As My Own Vendor?

While we do not suggest this, you are more than welcome to be your own florist or DJ. If you decide to be your own florist, you will be expected to arrive with your work completed and you may not use our buildings as your workshop. All food must be supplied by one of Ashland’s preferred caterers.
