What makes Spring weddings so special?
Spring weddings are a personal favorite of ours as Spring means rebirth, new beginnings, and gorgeous color palettes. As we reflect on our first wedding season, we could not stop thinking about Kelsey and Adam’s wedding in late Spring of last year. Their wedding was the perfect marriage of personal touches and vibrant, spring hues.
We are constantly asked from couples: What is one piece of advice you would give us when deciding on decor for our wedding at HA? We always respond: GO BIG. Historic Ashland combines old-fashioned lines and materials with modern amenities, like large stone fireplaces; the reception space itself has 42′ ceilings, thus, it is important to remember to think BIG with your florals, signage, and decor to ensure that it is not overshadowed by the grandiosity of the Lodge. Kristen Adams, of Blossom Bliss, blew this one out of the park with her large installation piece on the mantle (see pictures below).
Kelsey also got us thinking about how important it is to incorporate personalization into your wedding day. Kelsey and Adam had monogram signs, programs, napkins, and the like; this is the perfect way to make your wedding your own. Another aspect of the day we absolutely loved was the reception table centerpieces: books (the bride is a teacher)! And we cannot forget, K + A’s personalized monogram cookies on their dessert station: YUMMY!!!! This wedding was the epitome of classic from the gorgeous old-fashioned Bentley that transported the special couple to the food to the decor. We could not be happier for these two!
