Does Historic Ashland accommodate Winter Weddings?
We had been wanting to host a styled shoot to market Winter Weddings since we opened Ashland. It was super important to us to include same sex couples in this shoot as we support the LGBTQ community. At Ashland we believe that every couple deserves their wedding day in a place that supports and believes in their love.
Our bridal suite is large enough that Katie and Molly were able to get ready in separate parts of the suite without seeing each other prior! The two participated in a ceremony on the upper level of the Lodge with the ambience from the fireplace. The Lodge is big enough that a ceremony can be hosted in the upstairs with the reception being set up to the left (without interfering into the ceremony). If you love the 42′ ceilings at Ashland, then you will love this ceremony option. Guests will then be on the lower level for cocktail hour. It is super accommodating as we do not have to flip any rooms. We are one of the only venue spaces in Central Pa that can host the entire wedding day inside our climate-controlled reception space on two different floors!
Mark Kintzel of Mark Kintzel Designs brought his amazing talent to the shoot by creating a frosted, blue inspired winter wedding. We wanted to accent the Lodge by using muted and neutral colors. It was very important to us to create designs that were different, unique and bold. Mark was the perfect person to bring this vision to life. At Ashland, we do not like cookie-cutter, so we hope you are inspired by Wedding Blue.
